Maybe it all started with the iPod. Apple products were kind of obscured and were always in the backseat before the iPod came out. Then people took notice of the sleek gadgets that Steve Jobs' company provided and suddenly everybody has to have one. Some people might even go as far to saying that they need it, not want it. This is certainly the
case for the iPhone and people are eagerly waiting for the new iPhone 5.
The iPhone, manufactured and marketed by Apple, is a smartphone and multimedia device. It has a simple design and is characterized by the easy user interface and multi-touch screen with virtual keyboard. Its operating system is the iOS. The current model is the fourth generation iPhone 4. Unlike its previous incarnations, this one has a new design, incorporating a steel frame acting as the phones antenna. It also has 2 cameras: a 5-megapixel camera at the back and a VGA camera at the front. When the iPhone 4 came out, 1.7 million units were sold out in three days. This is the scenario that is likely to happen when the iPhone 5 comes out.
The rumors surrounding the iPhone 5 are crazy. A lot of people have been speculating about the details, from its release date to its design.
In the previous months, there have been speculations that it will be released in September. This was based on Apple hiring more staff, AT&T imposing a holiday ban on its own staff and the price reduction of the iPhone 4. The release has been pushed back because Apple wants to release the iOS 5 and iPhone 5 at the same time. France Telecom has said that the release of the iPhone 5 will be on October 15.
There is also gossip that the new iPhone will have several versions. Apple will come out with the iPhone nano to answer the growing competition of cheap Android phones. There is also talk that there will be a regular and pro version of the iPhone 5 which was indicated by Apple buying different amount of parts. This is similar to the third generation iPhone which has a 3G and 3GS version. There has been talk that the new iPhone will not be an iPhone 5 but an iPhone 4S; but there is also gossip that Apple will release an iPhone 4S (an upgrade on the current model) AND a newly-designed iPhone 5.
The new iPhone 5 will feature a new design including a larger screen that will support HD (1080p) capabilities. The home button will also be elongated and become more oval-shaped which is perfect for people with fat thumbs.
There have been claims that Sprint will be the third U.S. carrier of the iPhone 5, alongside AT&T and Verizon. T-Mobile has confirmed, however, that they will not be carrying the new Apple gadget but will consider it in the future.
The rumors surrounding this coveted Apple gadget can drive anyone crazy as you don't know what's real or not. But all these speculations only add fuel to the fire and people will surely line up at the Apple Store when it finally comes out.
