Tascam and SaneWave have joined to create the Tascam X-48MKII, which is claimed to be the world’s first standalone 48-track Hybrid Hard Disk Workstation. The device features a 1TB internal hard disk drive, a dual-core Intel ATOM processor, an HDTV tri-level sync and Graphical User Interface(GUI) for recording, mixing, editing and metering. The Tascam X-48MKII also supports eSATA and USB interfaces, 48-hour continuous recording @44.1kHz and 20-hour continuous recording @96kHz.
